This weekend, my family is all getting together for my twin nephew’s birthday (which was actually last week). It has been a long time since the Elley’s, Williams’ and Pagel’s have all been together at the same time, so I am really looking forward to hanging out with them. Next weekend, Kristen heads off to Houston to visit with her mom. She was just in Texas a few weeks ago, but her mom just had a hysterectomy on Monday and she needs to be out there to help out. Her surgery went fine and she seems to be on the mend – a big sigh of relief that it is over with!

I realize that it has been a little while since I last blogged, but this thing called ‘work’ keeps getting in the way of my free time. This new project has demanded more of me than I originally thought it would – but that seems to be the way it always is here at Accenture. I am still a firm believer that the model by which my company operates: 80 percent of the work is completed by 20 percent of the people. Unfortunately, I happen to fall into that 20 percent bucket.
Kristen and I haven’t been up to much lately. Last weekend was fairly quiet – we made the typical errand runs to the grocery store, home depot and target. The old flowers and plants that somehow managed to make it through this hot and dry summer were pulled up and replaced with some fall flowers (mums and aster). Reid also got some flowers on his grave - we went with a baby blue and ivory theme as we thought it was fitting for him. Kristen also had a wreath made for our front door and picked that up this week, so I guess these things are a sign that we are ready for fall. Football is already here… the weather just needs to cooperate now. :)
